LS/FF x Finisterre Special screening

Friday 29th March, 8pm we’re stoked to be hosting a special screening of Mikey de Temple’s beautiful ode to waveriding ‘Sight | Sound’ at Finisterre’s HQ in St Agnes, Cornwall.

Spring is a time of change; solitary winter sessions melt way and familiar faces return to the fold, recharging the line-up with tales of travel, of landscapes scoured and waves scored. It is a time of coming together to exchange ideas, collaborate and forge new plans. In honor of the season, and to celebrate the launch of their Spring range, Finisterre are opening the doors on their Wheal Kitty workshop for a weekend of ideas and inspiration and asked us to curate an evening screening which would stir the soul and rouse the senses.

Sight | Sound is one of the stand out films we’ve had the pleasure of screening at the LS/FF,” says Festival Director Chris Nelson. “Mikey de Temple is a master craftsman known for his style in and out of the water. This follow up to his first film Picaresque combines stunning cinematography with a sublime soundtrack and mindblowing surfing from the likes of Chris del Moro, Kassia Meador and Ryan Burch so we’re really stoked to be screening this in Cornwall. Mikey has been a supporter of charity Waves for Water and has been involved in a number of activities raising funds to help those devastated by Hurricane Sandy which tore through the East Coast of the USA last year. The boys at Finisterre thought this sounded like an excellent cause and were keen to support it so are making a donation to the fund.”

On Saturday night, Finisterre are hosting internationally renowned cold water surf photographer and author Tim Nunn as he talks travel, photography, dealing with bears and surfing amongst icebergs for his latest project Numb – those who caught Tim and his awesome photography at LS/FF last year know this is not to be missed! Beers, films, talks and waves on the horizon…it’s shaping up to be a pretty good Easter weekend!

Tickets to these exclusive evenings, are free but extremely limited. To reserve your place, call Tegan at the Finisterre workshop on:  01872 554 481.
