Shorties 2015 // VOTE NOW!

SHORTIES_VOTING

We’re stoked to announce that voting is now open for the 2015 London Surf / Film Festival Shorties x REEF. It’s been a stellar year and we have 21 shorts longlisted for your viewing pleasure, showcasing every aspect and angle of surfing – from board shaping to bodysurfing, road tripping to wave ripping and everything in between. Assembled from the very cream of homegrown filmmaking talent, there are some 100 minutes of  surf movies, right HERE so that’s a couple of lunch breaks sorted right there. Watch them, enjoy them and vote for your favourites – you’ll be supporting independent filmmaking and spreading the surfing stoke!

“We founded The Shorties in 2011 to showcase the very best of British and Irish surf filmmaking talent and support the wealth of creativity on our shores,” says LS/FF Director Chris Nelson. “As surf writers, we wanted to celebrate the art of storytelling which is at the very heart of surf culture and we’re stoked that Shorties entries and their filmmakers have gone on to make an impact on the global stage. This year we had a record number of submissions and the quality of films entered have raised the bar yet again. 20 films from established, emerging, professional and student filmmakers have been longlisted, so we are asking the wider surf community to get involved, to support independent filmmaking and vote on their favourite entries in order to help us select the short list of films that will be showcased as part of this year’s festival.”

Voting is open until midnight on Wednesday 24th September 2015. Check out the longlisted entries and cast your votes HERE.

The shortlist is decided by a combination of peer votes cast by the wider surf community and votes cast by the screening panel comprised of some of the brightest and most influential names in surfing and the media.

The selected films will be showcased on the big screen as part of the 5th Annual London Surf / Film Festival, presented by REEF,  16-24 October 2015 hosted across the capital and across two weekends.
