UK PREMIERE: EMOCEAN Dir. Tony Harrington
Emocean started out as a surf film but quickly turned into something so much more. Featuring icon of Australian surf culture, Paul Witzig whose films captured the shortboard revolution through surfers like Wayne Lynch, Pipeline photographer Brent Bielmann, Hawaiian watermen Dave Kalama and Jamie Mitchell, surfers Bronte and Dave MacAulay, plus ocean scientists, fishermen and more this is a documentary with soul. A salty blend of stories and tales of adventure, inspiration, love and loss, above all else it’s about our relationship with the ocean. Combining beautiful cinematography from Hawaii’s Pipeline, California’s Mavericks, remote locations tucked high up in North West and deep in South Australia, this is a film to stir the wanderlust and the senses.
