Hosted 9th -12th October at The Genesis, East London, the 4th edition of the London Surf / Film Festival is a celebration of the cream of contemporary surf culture.

Until 31st August  filmmakers from across the globe and across surfing genres are invited to submit their films for consideration for this year’s festival programme. Surfing and surf culture are wide open to interpretation and we welcome films that explore all aspects and angles. For submission details hit the LINK.

Sunday 31st August also sees the entries to The LS/FF Shorties short film contest close. The Shorties is open exclusively to filmmakers from or based in the UK and Ireland and open to entries up to 5 minutes in length. The Shorties is designed to celebrate the wealth of homegrown talents on our shores and showcase them on the international stage. For details on how to enter The Shorties, click HERE.

“The art of story telling  is deeply embedded within our surfing heritage,” says Festival Director Chris Nelson. “This year’s level of entries – features, documentaries, short films and movies showcasing the cutting edge of performance surfing – shows that the surfing narrative is alive and well.”

Selected films will be screened in the capital across four nights from the 9th October to the 12th October 2014. As always, the programme will consist of the very best in independent films by both leading lights and emerging surf filmmakers, award-winning features by internationally acclaimed directors, underground hits and UK premiers.

Films will be considered by the Screening Panel – comprised of experts from within the worlds of surfing, filmmaking and media – for prestigious awards including London Surf / Film Festival Best Film, Best Documentary and Best Cinematography, Best International Short, Shorties of the Year and will be eligible for the London Surf / Film Festival Viewer’s Choice, as voted for by the knowledgeable British audience.
