We’re stoked to announce that we’ll be screening longlisted submission to the Shorties contest presented by National Trust at this year’s World Belly Boarding Championships. “Hosted at Chapel Porth, Cornwall on the 4th September, the Belly Boarding Champs, now in it’s 9th year, is a grass roots staple on the waveriding calander and we’re stoked to be part of it,” says London Surf / Film Festival founding member Demi Taylor. “Visitors can watch the pick of the Shorties and vote on their favourite films, there will even be a few tasty Oakley goodies to be won. The shortlisted entries will be screened at the London Surf / Film Festival alongside International surfing’s most exciting releases with the winning entry being premiered in NY with Smash and in Canada at the Canadian Surf Film Festival.

About the World Belly Boarding Championships
The Belly Boarding Champs presented by National Trust was started by Martyn Ward and Chris Ryan as a memorial contest to the late Arthur Traveller, a Londoner who holidayed at Chapel Porth with his wooden board ever year and has now grown into a international affair with more than 200 entrants last year. From the beginning it has been a very simple, back-to-basics comp – no wetsuits, no leashes and no swim fins. A bit of wood and a swimsuit is all you need!
“The event has gone truly global in recent years with entrants from Australia, New York, San Francisco and British Virgin Islands,” says Robyn Davies of the National Trust. “It continues to grow from strength to strength, yet we hope remain connected to it’s fun roots.”
