How it started

London Surf / Film Festival was founded in 2011 by surfers and writers Chris Nelson and Demi Taylor. It began, where all the best ideas start life – around the kitchen table, in the deep mid winter, after a few good waves. The aim was to bring together the UK surfing tribes to share the stoke, the storytelling and the cream of surf culture.

How it’s going

After 11 editions, some 270 film premiers, with art shows, live music, talks and a whole heap of good times, it has grown to become a must attend gathering for the global waveriding collective.

Why come?

For many of the films we showcase at London Surf / Film Festival, it will be the only chance you’ll get to watch them as they were intended to be enjoyed – on the big screen, in surround sound, accompanied by a packed crowd of likeminded individuals. Surf movie releases have always been community happenings – the original “social media” experience and that is exactly what the LS/FF is all about. See you there!
