LS/FF 2025 LINE UP ANNOUNCED

Frostbite Dir.Oscar James

Frostbite Dir. Oscar James // UK Premiere LS/FF Friday 7th November

We’ve just dropped the line up for the 14th Annual London Surf / Film Festival x Finisterre hosted 6-8  November 2025 at the iconic Riverside Studios, and it’s an epic celebration of the very best of international and homegrown surf culture.

Bringing to the UK a handpicked programme of the very best films from across the globe – seeking out big adventures and big stories from the furthest frigid fringes, overcoming the odds and exploring the notion of self, meeting underground characters that embody the spirit of our culture and finding new waves in the most unexpected places – it’s about serving up fresh perspectives, new line-ups and the very pinnacle of UK contemporary creativity in the here and now.

There are documentaries to inspire, travel to stir the wanderlust as well as cinematography and surfing that redefine the very bounds of possibility. Accompanied by Q+A’s and ‘Audiences with…’  some of the world’s most relevant and exciting surf creatives like surf explorer Joaquin Azulay, adventurer Kepa Acero, surfer and activist Lucy Small and stylist Mike Lay  plus a raft of game changing filmmakers including multi award winning Maddie Meddings, plus Karen Song, Seth Hughes, Jonathan Stromberg and Rodrigo Valsamis as well as a special live podcast presented by our good friend at Yeti and hosted by cultural commentator Looking Sideways’ Matt Barr, this is a true celebration of the cream of surf culture.

We’re bringing to the UK a whole host of premieres, award winning features and independent films but it’s always about more than that. It’s about the people, the places, the gathering together and the sharing of stories, ideas and stoke. For many of the movies we screen, the festival will be the only chance to watch them as they were intended to be enjoyed – on the big screen, accompanied by a packed crowd of likeminded folk – the original “social media” experience… you’re not going to want to miss this.

Tickets are on sale now. You can either by a ticket to a single screening priced from £12.50 or score one of our Evening passes – £22. Evening passes include entry to a whole night of films plus a free beer from our friends at Sharp’s & some exclusive goodies! LS/FF  is a must attend for the dreamers, adventurers, explorers and the hard chargers from all four corners of our isle.

“AN ESSENTIAL CULTURAL HAPPENING. A MEETING OF MINDS FROM ALL SIDES OF THE SURF SPHERE. WHERE FOLK THAT ENJOY THE SLIDE, ON WHATEVER KIND OF CRAFT IS THEIR PERSONAL KINK, CONGREGATE TO WATCH SURF MOVIES AS THEY SHOULD BE WATCHED: ON THE BIG SCREEN.” CARVE SURFING MAGAZINE

Now in its 14th year, we’ve grown the event organically, working with some of the most exciting surf filmmakers from across the globe, hosting sold out premieres and audiences with some of the most inspiring names in surfing. See you there!

HOW DID LS/FF START?

Founded in 2011 by surfers, writers and filmmakers Chris Nelson and Demi Taylor, London Surf / Film Festival began, where all the best ideas start life: around the kitchen table, in the deep mid winter, after a few good waves. The aim was to gather together the UK surfing tribes to share the stoke, the storytelling and the cream of surf culture. Celebrating and elevating the UK surf community is at the heart of it all and was the seed that grew into the hotly contested, globally respected Shorties short film competition.  We’ve had the privilege of hosting some 300 film premieres, accompanied by art shows, live music, talks and a whole heap of good times. It has grown to become a must attend gathering for the global wave-riding collective.
