Voting is now open for The 2012 London Surf / Film Festival Shorties Contest Presented by National Trust.

‘We established The Shorties short film contest as a way to support and showcase homegrown surf filmmakers and celebrate the wealth of creative talent on our shores,” says Festival Director Chris Nelson. “We’ve been overwhelmed again this year by the sheer quality, diversity and standard of films that have been entered from British and Irish based filmmakers and it speaks volumes about the creativity that is thriving in our surf community. This year 20 films have been longlisted so we are asking the wider surf community to get involved, to support independent filmmaking and vote on their favourite entries in order to help us select the short list of films that will be showcased as part of this year’s London Surf / Film Festival.”

Voting open until midnight 18th September 2012. Check out all the longlisted entries and cast your votes HERE.

The shortlist will decided by a combination of peer votes cast by the wider surf community and votes cast by the screening panel and the selected films will be showcased on the big screen as part of the London Surf / Film Festival 11-14 October 2012.
