LS/FF 23 – And The Winners Are…
12th Annual London Surf / Film Festival x Finisterre was another bumper year of incredible films and immersive Q+A’s, packed out screenings and workshops, a gallery show, good times and more. Thanks to the incredible filmmakers who shared their premieres with us and to the community who gathered together from all corners of the UK and beyond to celebrate the art of waveriding and the culture that surrounds it.
We were stoked to host 24 incredible World, European and UK Premieres across three nights accompanied by special ‘audiences with’ the most exciting and inspiring filmmakers, creatives and surfers from Europe, Australia, the UK and across the globe who feed the beating heart of our culture.
…And we’re not finished just yet… we have a very special finale night coming up in January so stay tuned!
Huge thanks to everyone who made films, made the journey, made us laugh and made our night, sharing the creativity and more than a few Offshores along the way, talking story, voting for your favourite films, always bringing the stoke and supporting our charity partner Centrepoint – who are there for young people facing homelessness – by entering our prizedraw to win a beautiful Cord Surfboard and raising more than £800! We showcased 14 incredible images from leading photographers around the world, celebrating 20 years of cold water surfing curated by our friends at Finisterre, hosted a special workshop with our friends at Yeti exploring the art of story telling, gave away 6 top of the range natural rubber wetsuits thanks to Finisterre and made two Shorties filmmakers very happy thanks to our pals at Northcore.
Special thanks to our awesome crew who are the heart and soul of the festival (including Julia, Joanna, Oliwia, Dew, Cali and Andre) friends old and new, our esteemed jury plus our partners who wholeheartedly support the creativity that exists in surfing: Finisterre, Northcore, Yeti, Sharps, Venn Creative, Looking Sideways, Dick Pearce, Cord Surfboards, Surfline, Huck, Carve and Surf Girl.
The results of the LS/FF Jury are in….
