SEAN DOHERTY

When it comes to the story telling and the surfing narrative there are few with weightier credentials than Sean Doherty. He’s the former editor of Tracks magazine, senior writer at Surfer and, back when the World Tour had decent contest summarisers, was one of the few enlightening voices in the booth at championship events. He has written a number of excellent books including a compelling biography of Michael Peterson and his fresh-off-the-press tome Golden Daze. He recently put his hand in his pocked and rescued Surfing World magazine (est. 1962) at a time when print titles are falling left, right and centre. He is also an activist holding the powerful to account and campaigning on environmental issues – as Chairman of Surfrider Australia and through his awesome Instagram account – give him a follow!
