Shorties Shortlist Announced
London Surf /Film Festival is thrilled to announce the finalists for the 2013 LS/FF Shorties, presented by Reef. The shortlisted entries, which represent some of the very best in British surf filmmaking, will be screened at this year’s London Surf / Film Festival. “The quality of Shorties submitted to this year’s competition has been incredibly high, covering a wealth of subjects and styles that have really captured the wider surf community’s attention. Both the public and panel voting were very tight and I know the judges had a really tough task in choosing this year’s shortlist of films,” says LS/FF Creative Director Demi Taylor. “We are excited to be showcasing a selection of the very best British short films on the big screen alongside the hottest international features. We had incredibly strong entries from both established names and emerging filmmakers this year and in recognition of that and in order to continue to nurture new talents, we have added an additional award category of ‘Emerging Filmmaker’ to the Shorties. Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on Sunday 3rd November.
The Shorties short film competition was established in 2011 as a platform to support and promote homegrown talents on the world stage. This year there will be 9 short films from across the UK, screened over the four days.
