The Viewer’s Choice is one of the most prestigious awards at LS/FF. Why? Because it’s all about you our esteemed audience of frothers, film lovers, fanatics and surf aficionados! Well, technically it’s all about you and your opinions on the very best films from the very best filmmakers. We want to know which film moved you and made you feel something – shock, awe, hope, longing, joy, terror, inspiration…

Everyone who supports the creativity that exists in surfing and casts a vote at the festival for the LS/FF Viewer’s Choice Award 2022 will be entered into a nightly prize drawn to win a very special blanket created in collaboration with VOITED x Australian visual artist, Maus Haus…
We have one of these toasty blankets ourselves. It lives in the back of ‘Big Red’ our trusty old Volvo, it’s going to be keeping winter at bay and keeping our adventures rolling long into the deep, dark season ahead!

About the Collab
In a distinct MAUS HAUS abstract style, this collaborative ‘Blue Mountain’ blanket takes inspiration from an early sunrise glow when it hits the top of a snow capped mountain. The artist depicts landscapes to remind us of the epic nature around us. In a second collaboration with VOITED, this design is a perfect blend of form, function and design. The 4-in-1 insulated & water-resistant indoor/outdoor blanket comes in both the original recycled Riptstop style and extra cosy CloudTouch™ style, the latter feels like a real sheep’s wool, but much lighter-weight, less bulky and with faster drying abilities. Both are made out of 100% recycled fabrics that are durable, stain resistant and machine washable.

About our jury
Our Jury is comprised of individuals with a passion for surfing and film making, their backgrounds cover the broad spectrum of waveriding and media, including filmmakers, producers, commissioning editors, magazine editors, photographers, writers, actors, artists and cutting edge surfers and they decide on who walks away with the awards for: Best Film, Best Documentary, Best Cinematography and Best International Short Film and Best Soundtrack. But the Viewer’s Choice is decided on by you, and you alone!
