The LS/FF GALA CLOSING NIGHT PASS delivers a whole evening of the very best surf cinema, Q+A’s, icons, filmmakers, good times, and more PLUS a complimentary beer from our friends at Sharp’s brewery… all for £20. That’s a lot of beautiful times for your buck!

Friday 2nd December – the line up

The European Premiere of the hotly anticipated Hail Mary is sumptuous, cinematic and jaw dropping in equal measure. This biopic from multi-award winning filmmaker Ben Gulliver follows hard charging Balaram Stack from his early boyhood in NY through to baptisms by fire in the hurricane swells of East Coast USA and the caverns of Teahupoo, Pipeline and beyond. Accompanied by a very special Q&A.

Heading to home shores and the World Premiere of Arnow – an intimate, stylised portrait of enigmatic big wave surfer Tom Lowe. From unlikely beginnings in a small, Cornish fishing town to charging some of the biggest waves in the world: Mavericks, Maui, Nazare, the North Shore and beyond. Just who is Tom Lowe and what drives him? Accompanied by a very special Q&A.

The features are accompanied by short films including the World Premiere Amygdala – Irish waters run deep, a showcase of the multi award winning Hunros Jorna – a Cornish exploration plus Twin and the best of The Shorties.

This is what Fridays should always look like!

HAIL MARY Dir. Ben Gulliver European Premiere LS/FF 2 December

HAIL MARY Dir. Ben Gulliver // European Premiere: LS/FF Friday 2 December 2022. Balaram’s cat-like reflexes and unflinching prowess in some of the world’s most intimidating line-ups have made this down to earth east coast local a true North Shore standout.

ARNOW Dir. Jack Whitefield // World Premiere: LS/FF Friday 2 December 2022.

ARNOW Dir. Jack Whitefield // World Premiere: LS/FF Friday 2 December 2022. Tom’s reputation as one of the most fearless men in surfing was hard-earned in the cold black waves of west Ireland
